Jessup Delbert Yazzie was born Dec. 7, 1998 to Larry Yazzie of the Meskwaki/Dine Nation and to Kaye Annis of the Lakota Nation.

Jessup has been dancing since he could walk, his first dance style was the grassdance style of dancing. Then when he turned 3 years old he was able to carry the fancy dance bustle, so that he could dance the Northen style fancy dance just like his hero, his dad, who is a Northern style fancy dancer.

Jessup's first great award was at the Worlds Largest Pow-Wow held in Albequerque New Mexico in April 2003 where he placed first as the Tiny Tot Champion out of 50 or more other little boys and girls. Jessup has been competing in the Junior division at pow-wows across the United States and Canada and placing 2nd and 3rd place with 7-12 year old boys.

Jessup has also been performing with his dad for schools, colleges, and theatres across the Nation with such acts as The Kevin Locke Trio, Keith Secola and The Wild Band of Indians, and The Native Pride Dancers.

Jessup's love for dancing comes from his heart and this shines through with each performance.

He is a natural on stage, and when the lights come on and its time for him to show his new moves, you can't help but be amazed at the energy he gives, as he becomes one with drum and nothing else matters to him but that moment when he can show his new moves.

His professionalism has always been complimented by stage hands and teachers wherever he goes. And the performers he dances with are great inspirations to him.

Since dancing with Keith Secola he has started playing the guitar, and and wants to learn how to play the flute like Kevin Locke.

Keith Secola calles him the "Worlds Fanciest Guitar Player" when he calls him to stage to play the song "Frye Bread".
