WASHINGTON, D.C. The National Congress of American Indians (NCAI)
is honored to host tribal nations to convene as a congress in a dynamic,
fully-virtual setting for the 2020 Annual Convention & Marketplace
on November 8-13, 2020.
As NCAI celebrates 77 years of serving the broad interests of tribal
nations, this years Annual Convention theme, Truth and Reconciliation,
explores the current state of tribal sovereignty and affirms the commitment
of tribal nations to use this forum to forge and advance critical
priorities in a unified way, with the ultimate goal of ensuring true
government-to-government relationships with the United States.
This six-day event features a robust mix of General Assembly presentations,
breakout sessions, subcommittee and committee deliberations, cultural
events, receptions, and more.
Key conversations include:
Convening of the Congress in Regional Caucus, Committees, and Sub-committees
NCAI member tribes, individual members, and constituents will
join together to discuss top priorities for the upcoming year, including
on the deliberation of resolutions. This year, the Convention is focusing
more on these interactive sessions to enhance the events function
as a congress.
NCAI President and CEO Town Hall NCAI President Fawn
Sharp and CEO Kevin Allis will host an open forum that will enable
attendees to learn more about the importance of convening as a congress,
the vision for the organization, and Indian Countrys most timely
priorities. The forum will include time for questions and discussion.
Convention highlights:
Marketplace This event is open and free to the public,
and will feature handmade Native jewelry, arts, and craft as well
as the opportunity to meet tribal entities, non-profits, and government
agencies working in Indian Country. The Marketplace is a component
of NCAIs 2020 Annual Convention & Marketplace.
Northwest Tribal Nations Cultural Night NCAI and the
local planning committee from the Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians
will host an evening of cultural immersion. The audience will experience
traditional songs, dances, and storytelling from tribal nations within

Marketplace. Credentialed press have access to all plenary and breakout
