Offering family safe fun for kids and adults!

Arizona Kid's Net
Jokes usually don't need instructions (listen, and then laugh or groan as appropriate) but the Az Kids Net Jokes are interactive and require your participation by clicking or hovering your mouse. Each joke section of Az Kids Net is formatted a little differently, so you'll need to read the directions. For example, the Knock Knock jokes require you to mouse over (but not click) on "Who's there?" and then again on "Answer," while Silly States needs a mouse click on the "Answer" button. All this clicking and mousing adds up to great fun, so don't miss it.

Comics.com
Featuring dozens of cartoonists from United Media, Creators, and Washington Post Writers Group, Comics.com has fresh content daily along with thirty-day archives, e-cards for all occasions, and comics via e-mail subscription. Snoopy (AKA Peanuts) and Dilbert are two of the most popular, and they each have their own complete site, just click on the buttons near the top of the page. Other family favorites include Luann, Heathcliff and Momma. If you've ever dreamed of being a cartoonist, take a look at "So You Want to Become a Cartoonist" on the Luann page.

ComicsPage.com
Comic strips from Tribune Media Services include classics such as Gasoline Alley, Annie, Dick Tracy, and Brenda Starr. Along with a ninety-day archive, many of the comics include a reader forum, interactive games, and a bit of strip history. From the front page, site navigation is divided into strips (comics with multiple frames, such as Shoe) and panels (single frame cartoons such as 9 to 5.) Bulletin boards for discussion are available from the entry page, as well as from each cartoon's main page.

Dr. Seuss: Characters and Unusual Creatures
Although this site lacks graphics and animation, it's a valuable reference. Visit to peruse a list of all of Seuss' books, followed by an alphabetic list of all his creatures (from Aaron, the alligator to Zummers.) Did you know the word "nerd" dates to 1950 when it first appeared in Dr. Seuss' "If I Ran the Zoo"? "I'll sail to Ka-Troo And Bring Back an It-Kutch a Preep and a Proo a Nerkle a Nerd and a Seersucker, too!"

Dr. Seuss National Memorial
Geisel was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, which is now home to the Dr. Seuss National Memorial. Best bets are the Geisel biography (All About Dr. Seuss), the tour of the sculpture garden (National Memorial), and Dr. Seuss Art Gallery. Although all the work at the gallery is for sale, you don't need to buy it to enjoy it. Be sure to view the Secret Art Gallery, which displays art not created for any of his books.

"His books were originally considered too outlandish to appeal to children. His first, 'And to Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street' (1937), was reputedly rejected by twenty-eight publishers before it finally found a home at Random House." Infoplease brings us an excellent one page bio, and related articles from their encyclopedia. Best link is Grinchy Trivia, which compares the 2000 live action movie and the 1966 TV movie with the original "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" book.
