Akwesasne Freedom School
The Akwesasne Freedom School is located on the Kanienkahaka (Mohawk) Territory of Akwesasne. The school is dedicated to the preservation of Mohawk language and culture. The school houses approximately 65 students and 12 staff members. The Akwesasne Freedom School has been in existance for twenty years, and has recently begun year round schooling. The curriculum is based on the Ohenton kariwatekwa, which gives thanks to all of life forces. The school is a Mohawk immersion school, and teaches all subjects in the Mohawk Language. The teaching methods are far different from mainstream schools in that it utilizes many activities geared toward hands-on experience. The children learn from experiencing the subject they are being taught.

American Indian College Fund
Based in Denver, with offices in New York City, the nonprofit College Fund was created in 1989 to raise private support for scholarships, endowments and public awareness for Native higher education. Chief Dull Knife College

Our college is named after Chief Dull Knife, also known as Chief Morning Star. Chief Dull Knife, under great odds, and with great courage led his band of Northern Cheyenne to our homeland. He and his people were under heavy fire, and under great odds, as they made their way back. Dull Knife Memorial College serves the reservation and surrounding communities. Dance of the Salmon, an Indian Summer Project
I have been working for the last few years with a project called Dance of the Salmon. This project was originally undertaken by students and teachers at the Sho-Ban Jr/Sr High School, in Fort Hall, Idaho. The project involved a historic and scientific look at the nearby native populations of Salmon, and their habitats.

Native American Program at Dartmouth College
The Native American Program (NAP), a program of the Dean of the College area, provides student support services to Native students at Dartmouth. Its director, Michael Hanitchak works full time to help ensure that the best education available is gained by native students. Michael is himself a Dartmouth alum and was a student when the NAP was in its first years. Onondaga Nation School
The Onondaga Nation School began as the Onondaga Indian School circa 1850. Under an agreement with New York State, the school began in a one room schoolhouse on Kennedy Road on the far eastern boarder of the Nation. In 1910, the school relocated to a two story house on the present site on route 11A. The school accommodated students Kindergarden through Grade Six.
